I ATE A BAGEL (Bagel Review 1)

I surprised myself this morning. Typically, I am a cold-topping man when it comes to my bagels. The bagel must be toasted, of course, but no one could tell me that cream cheese is better served warm. But when I found myself in the bagel shop this morning, I found that the cream cheese simply wasn't calling my name. No, this morning I would try something different, even if that difference was vast. I'm trying to try new things (I went to Denny's for the first time yesterday), and so today I pivoted from my traditional cold-topping bagel to something warmer (it was actually steaming when I got it). Thus begins my first-ever bagel review, which is something I hope to carry on with me into the future, as I plan on eating bagels until I can no longer eat solid foods. I got The Brekkie Bagel from Goodness Gracious, the closest bagel-specific café to my current dorm. The Brekkie Bagel comes with (taken directly from the menu) "fried egg, crispy bacon, tomato, seasonal greens, aioli & tomato relish." As it turns out, I happened to quite enjoy this bagel. Fresh off the panini press, the steaming-hot bagel was a new sensation, but certainly a welcome one, as it was quite a delectable bagel. Though I am not typically a huge tomato fan, I did not mind the double-helping of tomato found on this bagel (even though some of the relish fell on my shirt and may have stained it, which is probably the biggest issue I take with the bagel, regardless of the fact that that was almost entirely my fault). In fact, I though the tomato relish and the aioli complemented each other quite nicely, especially with the bitterness of the greens thrown in there as well. The tomato slice may have been a little thicker than I would have preferred, but I thought it paired very well with the meat, which is what I believe deserves the highest praise on this bagel. They did not skimp with the bacon, but rather provided ample meat, which nullified any qualms I had against the remaining contents of the bagel. Of course, the cherry on top of it all was the fried egg, which was the perfect textural addition to really wrap the whole thing together. Overall, 8/10, very good bagel.
